Prior to the KHSAA mandated "Dead Period," the Track & Field program opened their outdoor season at home with McCracken County Quad-Meet I on Tue. 3/10 playing host to Calloway County, Graves County & Dawson Springs.  The Men's Team placed second and had several athletes and relays as place-winners including several personal bests and a school record!

In field events,
Donsten Brown broke the school record in winning the High Jump with a leap of 6 ft. 6 in. and leads the state rankings after week 1 of the 2020 season!  Leandre Bolen scored two first place finishes in the Shot Put (40-5) & Discus (126-1) and Colton Hayden placed 3rd in both Shot Put (33-4) & Discus (99-8).  Esley Cornelius (87-6) & Logan Quinn (79-9 PR) placed 4th and 5th respectively in the discus as well.  Nathan Tracy placed 4th in the Long Jump with a personal best 17 ft. even.

On the track, Conner Moore won the 110m Hurdles in 17.7 seconds and placed 2nd in the 400m Dash with a personal best 57.90 while Wes Grogan placed 1st in the 400m Dash (55.97) with Ethan Smith placing 3rd in a personal best time of 58.54 seconds. Michael Helmich was runner-up in the 1600m Run (5:02.64) as was Carew Ellington in the 800m Run (2:14.84) with Corbin Knight placing 5th in a personal best 2:24.27 time. Elijah Holland placed 7th in the 100m Dash in 12.30 seconds.

In the relays, the 4x800m team of Grogan, Ellington, Helmich & Smith placed 1st in 9:05.96.  The 4x400m Relay team of Ellington, Knight, Clay Sykes & Noah Tolar were 2nd in 4:16.32 and the 4x200m team of Davis Vessels, David Rainey, Jackson Hill & Colin Tolar placed 4th in 1:59.74.

Also earning Personal Records on the day in the Shot PutLogan Quinn (24-11) & Luke Heine (24-3), Long JumpDawson Clark (13-0), 100m DashMichael Cox (12.52), and 400m DashGage Lawrence (1:02.41)
